Terms of the Toyota Extra program
Publication Date: October 18, 2022
The Ma Toyota Extra program (hereinafter referred to as the Program) is offered by the Toyota Dealers Parts and Service Association of Quebec (hereinafter referred to as APSCTQ) and allows for the accumulation of points that can be redeemed for discounts at participating Toyota dealerships in Quebec, as identified in the list of participating dealerships on this site www.matoyotaextra.ca (hereinafter referred to as the Site).
Using the Ma Toyota card, whether in physical or digital form (hereinafter referred to as the Card or the Ma Toyota Card), using the membership number, or logging in to access the Ma Toyota profile constitutes acceptance of the Program Terms. The conditions and terms of the Program are provided hereinafter.
Joining the Ma Toyota Extra Program
To participate in the Program, you must meet the eligibility criteria and become a member by completing the online registration form for the Program. The form is accessible on the Site. Registration is free. To be eligible, you must have a residence in Canada, be 18 years old or older, own or lease a certified Toyota vehicle or any other brand, be a current or potential customer of a participating Toyota dealership, and consent to the Program's Terms and the Privacy Policy. Corporations (companies, businesses, etc.) cannot join the Program.
Registration must be made under the legal name of the individual who meets the above criteria. Membership is personal, and a member’s account is non-transferable. In the event of death, the member’s account will be closed, and any accumulated points will be canceled. Ma Toyota points are indivisible, for example, in case of divorce.
It is the member’s responsibility to update their personal information, such as their address, phone number, and email address, by modifying their profile and account on the Site. APSCTQ reserves the right to refuse registration, issue a Card, or cancel a Card and account if the member’s personal information is incomplete or inaccurate, or if, in APSCTQ's opinion, the member or potential member does not comply with the Program Terms.
Once registration is complete, the member’s account is activated, and they will be assigned a membership number (or Card number), which appears on their digital Card in their online profile. The member is responsible for securing their account, such as by not sharing their password.
The member registered in the Program will be periodically informed of special promotional offers, including via emails sent to the email address associated with their account. If the member does not wish to receive emails for promotional offers or marketing campaigns, they may leave the consent box unchecked during registration. After registration, they can also uncheck the consent box in their member profile at any time. However, the member will still receive communications related to the Program Terms or their account.
The Ma Toyota Card remains the property of APSCTQ and, in the case of a physical card, must be returned upon request. It is not a credit card. It is non-transferable, non-refundable, and non-monetary. APSCTQ may revoke it at any time, at its discretion, without compensation. Points earned under the Program are not considered the property of the member, have no monetary value, and cannot be exchanged for money, sold, or transferred.
Personal information provided to join the Program will be used in accordance with the Quebec Privacy Act (RLRQ c P-39.1) and any applicable federal or provincial law. APSCTQ has a privacy and data protection policy, which can be reviewed on the Site.
The Points
A member accumulates points that can be redeemed for discounts by presenting their Ma Toyota Card or membership number, or by providing the email address or phone number linked to their account at participating Toyota dealerships during the purchase and payment of: i) parts; ii) accessories; iii) services; and/or iv) maintenance (hereinafter: Eligible Purchases). Points are accumulated based on ten (10) points for each dollar spent before taxes (TPS/TVQ). The number of points awarded is calculated based on the nearest rounded lower amount before taxes.
Each point has a discount value of three thousandths of a dollar (0.003 $). For example, a member with ten thousand (10,000) points can redeem them at a participating Toyota dealership for a thirty-dollar (30.00 $) discount on the purchase and payment after taxes (TPS/TVQ) of: i) parts; ii) accessories; iii) services; iv) maintenance; and/or v) purchase or lease of a new certified Toyota vehicle or a used certified or non-certified Toyota vehicle. The discount will be applied after taxes.
No points will be awarded or can be redeemed for a discount for services rendered by body shop departments of participating Toyota dealerships, nor if the service or product purchased from a participating Toyota dealership is covered by a warranty or protection plan or is paid for by an insurance company, except for maintenance services covered by Toyota’s Extra-Attentive Protection (PEA), which will earn points equivalent to the service price at the participating Toyota dealership where the services are provided. For clarity, no points will be awarded for other services or repairs covered by PEA.
No points are awarded for the purchase or lease of a new certified Toyota vehicle or a used Toyota vehicle (including accessories and protection plans). However, accumulated points can be redeemed for discounts at a participating Toyota dealership when purchasing or leasing a new certified Toyota vehicle or a used Toyota vehicle.
At the time of redeeming points for a discount, the member can accumulate points for the transaction for which they are receiving a discount, but points will be calculated based on the net amount billed and paid minus the discount amount after taxes. Points accumulated during a transaction cannot be used for that same transaction.
Points are added to the member’s account and will accumulate until used at a participating Toyota dealership.
If a potential member makes an Eligible Purchase before registering for the Program and obtaining their Card number, or if at the time of an Eligible Purchase a member fails to mention they are a member, they can claim the points they should have received by contacting customer service at info@matoyotaextra.ca, and submitting a copy of the invoice for the eligible purchases, along with their name, Card number, email address, and phone number. After verification, customer service will credit the points to the member’s account if applicable. The member’s file will be updated within thirty (30) days. The points claim must be made no later than thirty (30) days after the Eligible Purchase.
After eighteen (18) months of inactivity (meaning no points have been awarded or redeemed during this period), the member will receive a first notice informing them that if no transaction is made within the following six (6) months, the accumulated points will be canceled. After twenty-four (24) months of inactivity, the points in the member’s account will be automatically canceled. A final notice of inactivity will be sent to the member between thirty (30) and sixty (60) days before the point cancellation date, informing them that inactivity will result in point cancellation and specifying the cancellation date. The account will remain open, and the member will continue to receive communications related to the Program, but the Card will be marked as inactive. However, the member can reactivate their Card and start accumulating new points by visiting their dealership. Reactivating the Card will not restore canceled points.
Promotional Offers and Other Ma Toyota Extra Benefits
Special promotional offers may be provided to members, and additional points (hereinafter referred to as Bonus Points) may be awarded for the purchase of certain products and services or when the member meets the offer's requirements, as outlined in the terms. Miscellaneous Provisions
When returning or exchanging a product purchased and paid for at a participating dealer, the points awarded at the time of the initial purchase will be automatically deducted from the member's account. The refund to which the member is entitled will correspond, if applicable, to the amount paid after taxes when purchasing the product. The APSCTQ does not provide any guarantees for products and services offered by participating Toyota dealers.
The member can check their points balance online by visiting their profile on the Website or by visiting a participating Toyota dealer. It is the member's responsibility to keep all required documents, such as receipts for parts and services, and provide them if necessary. A 30-day period should be allowed between the time the points are awarded and when they appear in the member's account. A member who notices an error in their points must report it immediately to Ma Toyota customer service.
A lost or stolen physical Card will not be replaced, as no physical Cards are now issued by the APSCTQ. If a member's Card is used by someone else, the member associated with the Card will receive the points for purchases made by the other person. However, if points have been redeemed for discounts by someone other than the member associated with those points, APSCTQ and/or participating Toyota dealers will assume no responsibility for the points if the member has not previously reported the theft or loss of their physical Card, or if they were aware of unauthorized access or use of their Card at a participating Toyota dealer or did not cancel their Card by contacting the Program's customer service at
info@matoyotaextra.ca
or by calling 1-855-461-6815.
The Program will be terminated when APSCTQ informs the members that the Program, or any part of it, is terminated. This notice will be sent to members at least 60 days before the Program's end date (the "Program End Date"). The termination announcement will be communicated at all participating dealers, on the Website, or by any other means of communication to the members of the Program, as well as in a notice sent by email to members who have provided an email address or by mail otherwise.
Program members will have a period of ninety (90) days after the Program End Date to redeem their accumulated points until the Program End Date. The points will be valid until 11:59 PM EST on the 90th day after the Program End Date, and will then be automatically canceled.
A member may leave the Program at any time at their discretion by sending an email to
info@matoyotaextra.ca
. The member's information will be deleted, and the accumulated points in the member's account will be canceled and revoked. Additionally, the account of a member who deletes personal information required for their membership in the Program will be canceled and revoked, and the accumulated points will also be canceled and revoked.
If APSCTQ is prevented from continuing the Program, it may be interrupted, suspended, or canceled without notice, and no claims may be made against APSCTQ. Therefore, in the event of interruption or termination of the Program for any reason, the member acknowledges and agrees that APSCTQ will be automatically released from any liability to the member, and the member waives, by joining the Program, any legal recourse against APSCTQ and/or participating Toyota dealers in this regard.
The Program member acknowledges and agrees that APSCTQ has no liability whatsoever arising from the loss or temporary or permanent unavailability of data associated with their account or errors in their account, and the member waives, by joining the Program, any legal recourse against APSCTQ and/or participating Toyota dealers in this regard. Similarly, the Program member acknowledges and agrees that APSCTQ has no liability whatsoever regarding the uninterrupted functioning of the Internet network and web solutions used for the purposes of the Program, and the member waives, by joining the Program, any legal recourse against APSCTQ and/or participating Toyota dealers in this regard.
APSCTQ may unilaterally modify, restrict, suspend, or interrupt certain conditions or terms of the Program without notice. The following conditions or terms may be modified: membership terms in the Program, number of points awarded per dollar spent, exchange value of points, eligible purchases for earning and redeeming points, etc. Any modification, restriction, suspension, or interruption of the conditions and terms of the Program will be posted online on this Site and, when required, including in the case of any modification of an essential element of the Program, communicated to members in a notice sent by email if they have provided an email address or by mail otherwise. If an essential element of the terms and conditions of the Program is subject to unilateral modification, APSCTQ will send members a written notice, clearly and legibly drafted, containing only the new clauses or modified clauses, along with the previous version and the effective date of the changes, between the ninetieth (90th) and sixtieth (60th) day prior to the change's implementation.
The version of the terms and conditions of the Program found on the Site prevails over any other version.
A member may be expelled from the Program for serious reasons if they do not comply with the terms and conditions of the Program, make a false statement, or abuse or attempt to abuse their privileges. All points awarded to that member will be canceled and revoked.
The Program member acknowledges and agrees that APSCTQ has no liability whatsoever arising from any loss or damage caused by products or services purchased and paid for at participating Toyota dealers, and that it offers no guarantees of any kind, with the member waiving, by joining the Program, any legal recourse against APSCTQ in this regard.
The provisions hereof are distinct and separable, and a declaration of invalidity or unenforceability of all or part of a provision hereof by a competent court will not affect the validity or enforceability of the other provisions.
This Program is subject to the laws in effect in the territory of Quebec and Canada.
In the event of a discrepancy between the French and English versions of these Program Terms, the French version will prevail.
